Mohamed Osman is currently doing his Masters in Computer Science at Stanford University in the United States. He says that his time at Sheikh secondary school was pivotal in shaping him and his life. He says, “There I had my first encounter with computers which sparked my interest in technology and ultimately led to me studying computer science at Stanford.” He says that leadership opportunities at Sheikh were instrumental in shaping his character and honing his leadership skills. He felt that the academic rigor of his high school education made him a hard working student and ultimately prepared him for his time at Stanford University. Mohamed is ultimately interested in tech start-ups and he hopes to launch a start-up himself that will bridge any technology gaps that may be felt in Somaliland. He is passionate about STEM education and envisions returning to Somaliland to enhance education in STEM subjects. He is passionate about his career and his country and hopes his innovative ideas will be a game changer in Somaliland.
